About Your Host
To be born and raised here in Vermont is a special thing indeed. My husband,Dennis, and I raised our girls here in Johnson and have spent many hours participating in all the country life offers: shoveling snow, riding horses in the woods, clearing trails, stacking firewood, gathering eggs, pulling weeds from the garden, shoveling manure, ok, it makes me tired just to think of all the work, but you get the idea!
We had the chance to buy what is now The Vermont Treehouse years ago and have endeavored to make it the unique, comfortable, fun place that it is today. Since we live about 1/2 mile away, we are always available if a guest has a question or needs help with something. Guests love to explore the five miles of private trails that surround The Vermont Treehouse property, whether on foot or snowshoes. There is so much to do in the area, or relax out on the deck and listen to the birds sing and the stream down below.
When I’m not busy with making the house special for the next guests, I’m doing all the things back in the first paragraph! These days, my favorite thing is when my grandchildren join me, to enjoy all that the country life has to offer, including the shoveling!
Whether you decide to take a relaxing break from the rat race, celebrate a milestone, or undertake the Long Trail, Rail Trail, or go microbrewery hopping, you will find The Vermont Treehouse a great home base. We are happy to help you put together a memorable Vermont vacation!
Looking forward to your visit,
Sandy Bender
Other things to note
Vermont roads in the winter can be tricky in the mountains! Be sure you have an all- wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle with good winter tires. We plow as needed, but we are up in the hills and want you to be able to make it here safely in the winter season!
Because of the unique layout of the house and property (five levels of awesomeness, on a steep cliff) this house is really not suitable for young children. Important notes: Please read the House Rules before requesting to book. Locals MUST communicate with us before booking. Smoking in The Treehouse will result in a loss of the entire Security Deposit. Signed Short Term Rental Agreement and photo i.d. required upon booking, agreeing to the House Rules. Additional liability waiver required for those with children under 18.
